How is your weekend going? Happy Happy February to ya’ll. Hows Valentines prep going? I love the idea of a jumpsuit- simple. Easy. Casual. But still stylish. It’s the perfect outfit in theory for girls like me [or most girls, really] for those days you want to look good, but don’t want to actually try at all. This was a staple style of the 70’s and 80’s. The recent revival has made the fashion Industry love this piece like no other. You can dress em’ up or dress them down. They never fail you.
Pop star Rihanna, model Chrissy Teigen and actress Jennifer Garner are among the notable names who’ve recently stepped out in one-piece getups.
Unlike unzipping a pair of pants or hiking up a skirt when visiting the restroom, donning a jumpsuit requires the wearer to completely remove the outfit. You are at work/ restaurant and you need to use the washroom, suddenly you realize you are shirtless! It’s kinda awkward to think. It is so much fun to wear that I can live with the little discomfort it comes with.
If wearing all one colour is too much, consider adding a piece to break up the ensemble like teaming it with a sleeveless blazer or vest. Adding a belt/accessorizing can make the street style into a chic date night wear.
I donned up this simple navy blue jumpsuit with a grey Blazer from Myntra India. This perfectly breaks up the outfit to give it the chic edge. I accessorized it with a statement neck-piece. Paired with a Golden Ballerina from Styletag and a clutch from DKNY, I was good to go for my Date Night.
